Our Story


Golden Duck was founded in 1979 in Yangon, Myanmar's former capital city. The original Golden Duck restaurant opened its doors on March 13, 1979 at the corner of Strand Road and Shwe Bon Thar Street, in the heart of the financial district, where it still stands today.

Since those early days, the Golden Duck Family has successfully expanded its presence, currently operating eight restaurants in key locations across Yangon and Mandalay, offering diverse dining experiences at each branch.

For more than 40 years, our signature roasted duck and exquisite Chinese-Myanmar fusion dishes, combined with our friendly customer service, have helped the Golden Duck Family earn the hearts of our loyal customers and remain at the forefront of the Myanmar Food
and Beverage sector since the earliest days.

Our Charming Ko Oo
A charismatic and plucky sales manager at Golden Duck Restaurant, where he brings his passion for sales.
With a fun and friendly personality, Ko Oo brings joy and positivity to everyone who interacts with it.
Ko Oo has a unique ability to incorporate his natural quacking into his sales pitches, adding a charming and memorable touch to his interactions with customers.
Our Farm
Golden Duck previously sourced duck meat from third-party vendors or distributors. Due to the expanding demand, Golden Duck established a 20-acre commercial duck farm on January 9th, 2010, where imported cherry valley ducks were raised in 10 farming sheds.

Further, on January 2, 2013, the Nyaung Hna Pin Farm, which covers an area of 62 acres, began its operation with 16 sheds for livestock, 12 sheds for breeding, and 10 incubators.
Recognizing the need for further expansion, on January 5th, 2013, Golden Duck acquired an additional 13-acre land at the Twan Tay Livestock Zone to establish nine more commercial duck farms.

As of 2024-2025, a new Taik Kyi farm is underway to keep up with the demands of our roasted duck.
